About event
The production "The Son" is Boris Gafurov's staging of the play of the same name by the cult French writer Florian Zeller. In Zeller's telling, the problems between fathers and children become a detective story, in which we grasp at theories about who might be to blame, only to find that every suspect has an ironclad alibi. Behind this seeming "simplicity" lies a real tragedy, raising the eternal question of "To be or not to be?"
Florian Zeller is a playwright and novelist, winner of the Molière Award and the Prix Interallié. The French press has called Zeller "one of France's most significant literary talents" (The Independent). According to L'Express magazine, F. Zeller and Y. Reza are "the best contemporary French playwrights." Zeller quickly became one of the most celebrated contemporary authors, and his fame as a playwright has spread far beyond France.
