About event
Alisher Navoi's "Seven Moons" is a poetic Sufi parable about the mysterious balance between glory and disgrace, greatness and humiliation — about a shah who had everything and lost everything because of his royal pride. This is a production about the tragedy of overreaching desires, about the idea that lust for power is a paranoia that wounds the lyrical soul — the soul of an artist. Navoi's work came to life on stage through close collaboration with the Russian studio SounDrama. The production blends traditional Eastern music with contemporary Western rhythms, forming a cocktail of sounds and energies. From these combinations — to which one should add the elegant style of office suits and the vivid colors of Uzbek robes, the plasticity of Eastern dance and the restraint of European gesture — was born the strikingly beautiful production "Seven Moons," worthy of the great Navoi.
